INFO-CRIME
How many times have I mentioned that the animals of Quebec have nobody to protect them. Let me explain. We have no place to lay a complaint against a moron who does not take care of his dog or one who tortures cats in the alley.
Anima-Quebec is a big zero and spa and spca are not interested in protecting an animal if there is no advertising attached thereto.
But that could change. Info-Crime now accepts anonymous complaints. Quebecers are strong on anonymity when it comes to protecting animals. That should help. Not that it is satisfied that the police can do something about it but a little education might help.
INFO-CRIME
Excerpt from a report by Julie Phaneuf in Passionately Dog , December 2009, p.29
INFO-CRIME now accepts to receive anonymous calls from citizens witnessed acts of animal cruelty. The information is directed straight to the SPA have signed an MOU with Info-Crime and having, in their staff, an inspector authorized to enforce the law P-42. Thus, immediate actions are raised. Currently, only the SPA Sherbrooke meets these criteria.
In the absence of the MOU, the denunciations are directed to the SPCA, law enforcement authorities or to Anima-Quebec has four inspectors in Quebec and Montreal. INFO-CRIME agrees to deal with disclosures of plants Puppy and pet shops, but the information relates to Anima-Quebec. This leads me to believe that considers more abuse and cruelty to animals a crime. INFO-CRIME
now receives several calls from everywhere in Quebec, does this work with pride for animal welfare but had and still has to adapt to the inconsistencies of those working in the field.
You can report any acts of abuse and cruelty to animals (including puppy mills) anonymously at: 1 800 711-1800 or fill out the form on the following website: www.infocrime.org
